about

Grace Paola Halio is an artist based in New York. Her work explores how people connect with the environment and each other, and how they maintain those relationships. She studied Contemporary Art as a Form of Communication in the Public Sphere at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University.

She is the Co-founder of TOOMPT, a bi-coastal collective that creates space for people to connect over the shared experience of making art. TOOMPT was formed as a result of meaningful conversations that took place while developing work amongst friends and peers, leading to a desire to foster more opportunities for that dialogue with others.

Grace has presented paintings, socially engaged installations, works on paper, sculpture, and performance art throughout New York. Recent exhibitions include: Shadow Show, Studio 45, Brooklyn, NY (2024); First Come/First Hung, "B" Dry Goods, Brooklyn, NY (2023); ON, Ace Hotel New York organized by Head Hi, New York, NY (2022); messages from the sun, The Storefront Project, New York, NY (2019), New Wave, Gallatin Galleries, New York, NY (2018); Waste Walk: Reflecting on a Culture of Disposability, New York, NY (2018); Et Tu, Art Brute?, Andrew Edlin Gallery, New York, NY (2017).

In addition, Grace has facilitated several workshops to teach natural dye and tie dye techniques. She has also organized and published collaborative digital and print publications.
